We celebrated our 20th anniversary on October 20, 2018 at United Revival Mennonite Church in Brooklyn. Along with Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) and the New York City Council of Mennonite Churches (NYCCMC), we honored our history, heritage and legacy in assisting immigrants in New York City.
Together, we recognized local churches, partner programs, clients and special guests Sara Mateo Deo, Virgil Wiebe, Sandra Perez, Pastor Celso Jaime and Bishop Nicholas Angustia. Check out these photos for a highlight of the evening. To find out more about NYMIP, including our history, click here. MCC photos/Andrew Bodden

On October 3, 2018, I was blessed to participate in the MCC Borderlands Learning Tour. This tour benefitted in understanding in further depth the experience of migrants who cross the U.S./Mexico border. This trip was both inspiring, as we walked down Mexico’s side of the border wall. Beautiful murals express to hope of the people who try to cross it as well as tributes to those who have lost their lives in the attempt. You can learn more about the tour here.
